As one of the 21st century’s major life challenges, enhancing a population’s quality of life draws on the vibrancy of its cultural life as well as on the availability of a diverse patrimony. In celebrating and showcasing such patrimonial, cultural, natural, material, and intangible assets, life spaces become more attractive and over time become locally and internationally valued.
Axis 1 research (Patrimony, Memory, Modernity) is structured around four specific themes: (1) ‘Narratives and discourse’, (2) ‘Territory - traces and memories’ (3) ‘Patrimony: past, present, future’ and (4) ‘Arts and culture.’
